Iowa Central nursing students utilized the telehealth service at Greene County Medical Center during a recent 6-week simulation lab for their Adult Health Care course.
Telehealth service was used for demonstrating skills and reporting progress to campus instructor Mary Gronbach. During their time on the medical center campus, clinical instructor and medical center employee Kathi Hoskins, RN supervised the students.

The Adult Health Care course focuses on care for acute and chronically ill adults using nursing interventions needed for positive health outcomes. The course includes a 6-week period in a hospital environment. Greene County Medical Center partners with Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge for nursing students to do these 6-week rotations at the medical center.
Chief nursing executive Katie Heldt noted, “Through this relationship we play an active role in students’ professional clinical development with a learning environment promoting hands-on skills, critical thinking and the use of evidence-based practice.”
